S.H.I.P. Program
STEWARDS HAVING INFLUENTIAL POWER

Our goal is to create a culture of purpose driven individuals that engage in environmental stewardship and participate in environmental sustainability practices that give back to the earth that feeds us. This program is designed to inspire, educate, and empower community members to reconnect with their environment and make an ongoing commitment to nurture and protect the earth that sustains us. Fostering a sense of belonging rooted in reciprocity and stewardship will help residents recognize that our well-being is tied to the health of the environment and is dependent on the harmonious relationship with the earth.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Sustainable Development is a holistic approach to protecting, maintaining and restoring ecological balances within ecosystems where species coexist with each other and their environment. It is an approach that addresses the world's most complex challenges ensuring long-term stability in managing the earth's resources, the equitable distribution of wealth, and promoting economic growth without compromising environmental or social well-being. Where humans are able to maintain the earth's resources by giving back to the environment as much as they take from it. In other words, Sustainable Development is a concept that integrates economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental protection and consider them to be the three dimensions of Sustainable Development. These three factors needs to be balanced in order to ensure the well-being of both current and future generations. That means that everyone everywhere can meet their own needs to improve their own lives without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. To accomplish this multifaceted endeavor, governments, communities, families, and individuals must work together to implement policies and actions that support economic growth, social equity, and environmental stewardship.
CLIMATE JUSTICE
It is and has always been human activity that negatively impact the environment. Since the late 1980's, the fight to remediate global warming and climate change has globally spreaded and has called a great many into action. Millions of dollars have been invested into campaigns and programs to raise the awareness of the climate crisis to inspire others to take action. Well here's a news alert, "The word is out!" Protestors have protested their socks off and have taken extreme measures to put pressure on local and state government leaders to address this worldwide crisis. And finally, it has all paid off. Resources, benefits, and investments have been made available to tackle the climate crisis once and for all. Introducing Executive Order 14008, signed by President Joseph Biden, that will support and fund projects addressing this climate crisis and advancing conversations about the disproportionate impacts of climate change on Black and Brown communities nationwide. But, LET'S NOT FORGET the people with pre-existing health conditions that are worsened by the impacts of climate change and environmental hazards are suffering the most. Become a responsible global citizen and start addressing global challenges. Join the movement today to learn how you can fight against climate change and environmental degradation.
