The Woman Behind the Movement

Shavonda Blatch is a dedicated advocate for justice and community activism. She champions in environmental issues, social issues., and sustainable development. Her passion to help those in need was formed organically when she started her journey in 2011 where she worked as an Office Manager and Computer Instructor at the Lotus House Women's Shelter. She witnessed firsthand the struggles faced by those living in poverty. This experience ignited her lifelong commitment to social justice and community empowerment.

In her later years she went on to working as a Garden Manager with Health in the Hood Inc. where she managed community gardens in low-income communities advocating for food justice. That fueled her passion and beliefs that everyone deserves access to fresh, nutritious food, regardless of their economic status or geographical location.

Her passionate tendencies led her to Better Way of Miami Inc. where she provided support and guidance to individuals with a history of chronic homelessness and drug abuse. Her holistic approach to wellness and sustainability focused on rebuilding lives through empowerment, education, and social support. She believes that environmental stewardship and community well-being go hand and hand.

In 2018, after coming face to face with what she believes to be her highest calling, Shavonda was then motivated to start her own nonprofit where she helps to enhance the quality of life in underserved and marginalized neighborhoods through environmental, social, and economic advancements. After attending a series of workshops for Empowering Resilient Women, and gaining education through the Cleo Institute, she began to empower women, mothers and daughters by strengthening their leadership skills in their communities to become part of the solution towards a sustainable and equitable future.
